After reviewing a Class listing, parents & learners will definitely check the tutor profile to learn more about their expertise and why they should go with them ! Sometimes parents will elect a class based on Tutor experience and profile, so having a solid, well articulated, and professional profile , will give parents an Idea about you and your personality and the confidence  to enroll their learners in your Class. SALYM provides you with a dedicated page where you can showcase all your experience … If you are comfortable having an Intro video, let us know to set up for you a placeholder in your profile.  

Remember, Parents have a direct access to your profile from your Class listing 

Mandatory Fields to Complete 

Some of these fields will populate automatically to your profile from your registration form… Please make sure to go over these mandatory ones to update them as needed. They are the ones visible publicly to parents and learners 

Once you Sign in,  Select Setting to access your Tutor Dashboard. Click on Profile, then Edit ( please see bellow screen shot) 

• Name: This is a public name that will be seen by families and our staff. It does not need to be your full name, but you are required to include at least your First Name or Last Name with a suffix. Ex Ms Lea, Mr.Leo, Teacher Assad, Emman R., MBA, Etc
  • Gender: This will help your learners and parents to know how to address you. 
  • Current Position: A short phrase that appears alongside your display name. Use this section  to show your teaching strengths to families, e.g. ”’Former High School Chemistry Teacher”, “Arabic Language Tutor”, “MBA Student’, Etc.
  • Country: Sharing your country of residence on your tutor profile can help families find classes in the right time zone.

• Language:  Please indicate your spoken languages, this helps families with international background to decide about the classes that meet their learners needs. 

• Photo: You can update your Profile photo  under this section. Please ensure to add a clear, straight-facing photo of your face.

• About : Describe your background, teaching experience, and interests. Families use your “About ” section in their class searching process, so this should as descriptive as possible and be free of spelling or grammatical errors. 
• Qualification: This section is simply to recapitulate your earned degrees, certificates and all acquired knowledge that makes you stand out. it’s preferably to make in bullet/list style for ease of reading. 

As a general reminder: No section should include links to your social media accounts or other websites (remember to keep communication with families on SALYM Platform).
